New Year’s Resolutions That Will Transform Your Skin For The Better

The new year always signifies a fresh new start - an opportunity to change for the better and to kick off some old, unpleasant habits. Here at Kosmify, we'd like to think of it as a time to help you reassess your current skincare regimen to ensure you are giving your skin what it truly needs.

Let's start 2018 fresh with some easy-to-achieve beauty resolutions that will help your skin look and feel it's best.

Resolution #1: 365 Days of SPF

We just can't emphasize this enough - wear sunscreen all year round! While it's true that UVB levels are weaker during the winter season (it's what makes you get sunburned easily), the UVA levels are actually just as strong during the summer season which means they will accelerate the aging process in our skin just the same. You just can't feel it because of the low temperature.

Resolution #2: It's the Cleanse

Cleansing provides skincare benefits that far exceed brightening the complexion or balancing the oils on the surface of the skin. It's also very beneficial in keeping pimples and acne at bay. Don't go longer than a day without washing your face. When you sleep at night, your pores become prone to congestion so wash your face to clear out your pores and remove what’s accumulated on your skin throughout the day.

Resolution #3: Hydration is Key

Sure, you're also moisturizing your skin but are you moisturizing it in the most effective way possible? Make it a habit to moisturize your skin as soon as you can after washing and toning (face) or after bathing (body) to instantly lock in moisture. Also, avoid moisturizers that are heavily fragranced because they can cause skin irritation in the long run.

Resolution #4: Glow Foods

As the saying goes, you are what you eat. Skin, being the largest organ in the body, is one of the determinants of good health. Eating skin-boosting foods packed with vitamins and minerals along with a thorough skincare regimen is a surefire way of keeping your skin in tip-top shape.

Resolution #5: Get Enough Zzzz

Sleep is NOT for the weak. When you sleep, that's the time where your cells renew and repair themselves. Not getting enough sleep can pose some negative effects on your health. Lack of sleep will lower the moisture levels in your skin as well as your complexion's pH levels leaving your skin looking dull and dry. Eight hours of sleep will maintain your skin's natural glow and will keep your skin in great condition.
